I served in the RAF for 22 years until 1989. Now turned 60 I am new to home computing but found this site and already I think I recognise some of the names from my various units. I'm sure to spend many fascinating hours regularly visiting the site and checking the names.

About two hours after joining FR I was contacted by Jesse. We joined the Navy on the same day in 1956. Memories come flooding back and I was beginning to think I'd upset him, 54 years ago!...... Patrick "Alf" Larking. Ex POM(E) Royal Navy. 56/66. 'A man who has no memories has never lived'.

I joined this site looking for friends who I served with and to recruit new members to the Association I have just started.I found over 10 friends I served with and am hoping that of these some will join our Association.

Thank you, Forces Reunited, for the wonderful recent contacts I’ve had with friends from the past through you. In early October, I heard from Joe Wade with whom I was in Boys’ Company RASC in Aldershot, 1954-1955. In mid October, I heard from Les Mottram with whom I served as an adult in both Aldershot and at HQ BAOR 1956-1968. At October’s end I heard from ex-Air Formation Sigs Don Munro with whom I served in the British Embassy Bucharest, 1971-1973. And to cap it all (should that be: so far?) a week ago I heard from Rosemary Pink WRAC, with whom I’d been friendly when we worked at the War Office, Berkeley Sq., London, in 1962-1963. Friendly Seasons Greetings indeed, sharing old memories with old friends – you just can’t beat it! Thanks again, yours aye, Iain Leggatt (ex-22848955 RASC 1954-1965; RAOC 1965-1980).
