Albert James (Jim) Braley
|
14 October 1936 To 4 October 1936 |
| Harwich Essex |
Jim Braley LF944922 - Ex of Royal Navy - Fleet Air Arm - Ark Royal Aircraft Carrier - 796 Squadron - Shellduck Squadron KD2R5 Radio Planes, HMS Seahawk. Time Served: 24/04/1955 to 26/04/1964.
I have access to an old photo album of Jim''s, showing places served and old ship mates. He served on Ark Royal, working on helicopters used by 42 Commando, with Roger, Jock, Jan and Harry in East Africa, Malta and Singapore.
I only knew Jim in Civvie Street, when he worked as a mechanic for Toleman Car Transporters in Harwich, Essex. He joined a model flying club where I was a member and was a very keen model aero engine collector. Jim and his wife Linda were avid boot sale enthusiasts and Jim could aways be found sitting behind Harry''s stall on Clacton Market. He loved bartering with Harry, using skills picked up from visiting casbars when he was in the Navy, no doubt.
He will be missed by many.
Rest in Peace Jim - you Scouse Git! |
