WWII Verteran from Shefford, Bedfordshire, Died aged 84. A.W.Guthrie joined the Royal Navy as a boy and served on the Destroyer HMS Forrester in the Battle of Narvik, was also the coxswain of The Admiral's Barge on board the Battleship HMS King George V. Resided in Scotland since the end of WWII Alec was the eldest of six boys. Three surviving brothers will attend his funeral at Lanark, Scotland and say goodbye to their senior brother on Tuesday 20th August 2002. |
