Robert Brighton
|
1955 To 1973 |
| Havant Hampshire |
Robert joined the Royal Atillery straight from school in Havant in Hampshire. He was a great friend of mine, and as I had also joined the Army shortly after him, we only got together during leave. We had both joined Boys service, him a Junior Gunner and me a Junior Infantryman. We would compare our reports during leave and had a laugh doing so. Robert joined 3RHA and sadely died on exercise in Brunei,he drowned during a river crossing.
I always think of Robert(Trebor as I called him) when I go home and pass the cemetary where he is buried. A good mate and a good soldier. |
