Twentyone years ago today, in Lisburn, N.I., a group of soldiers took part in a charity fun run. There were four signallers, one RAOC and Ian, from the Green Howards. After the run, they returned to their vehicle. Ian turned the ignition key and an IRA bomb did the rest.
Ian and his friends died not in battle, but helping those less fortunate than themselves. For this, we honour them. As soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice, we remember them.
As husband, father and son, we remember Ian.
As a Christian, we know that Ian has entered into the joy of his Lord. R.I.P. |
