This is to remember all the allied soldiers sailors and airmen who were killed during the utter stupidity of the landing at Anzac Cove, in 1914 -15
The rememberance service for it was held in ever hamlet or town, city, or even sheering shed in outback Australia, last Saturday and it was great to see the number of youngsters wearing their grandfathers medals with pride, my grandson was wearing his great, great grandfathers medals, which were two [2] from the boar war, and the three from WW1. He fought in Gallipoli and was one of the first into the fracas.Hr volunteered as a 12 year old bugle boy, when he was only ten [10] he was only about 5'2" tall, so what hight he was when they accepted him begs you to wonder. |
