Tam Lorimer Piper Scots Greys: Detmold ,Aden ,Hong Kong.Fallingbostel and various tours with the Pipe Band.
Tam Lorimer passed away at the start of 2009 after a long illness, A great loss of a great Piper. I had known Tam since Detmold when the Pipe Band moved in above B Squadron.Tam also doubled as Johnny Waltens Ferret driver. We remained friends until Tam left the Regiment5 in Fallingbostel and married Pat who was a school teacher in Fallingbostel. Tam joined the Water Board after the army and rose through the ranks to a senior position remaining with the Water Board until his retirement.
He was a great supporter of the Regiment through the association as was Pat working at the Castle as a volunteer. Tam went on visits to the Regiment and was the best of company to all he met.
He will be missed as a great piper, a comrade and a great friend.
As Tam would say, "The Eagle Has Landed".

Knew Tam from Detmold had not seen him for about 35yrs until he delivered a disabled veh for my wife always smiling was Tam .always be remembered |

I had that privlage to be in Tam's company many a time at the reunions . Enjoyed his company back in Fallinbostel Feb 2008 when we were invited over by the regiment .What I will always remember is in the main street in Fally they were 5 Greys on that cold morning looking for our old pubs Me and Lefty Wright .Bomber Yates .Tam .and Jimmy Miller .
