I am named in honour of Peter Flyte {real name Fright} 128974 RAF, who was a navigator in 148 squadron. He died in a Halifax lost over the Balkans, flying out of Tocra. Born in 1948 myself, I have always wanted to know more about the brave young man whose name I share.I only know he was probably born in Kent, and I have his last letter to my mother, who was obviously his close friend. |
