|
30 August 1939 To 04 August 2008 |
| Llantwit Major Vale of Glamorgan United Kingdom |
My father served in the RAF for 22 years (including Queens Flight at RAF Benson), came out in 1981 at C/T level, he didn't want to move my mother from her family again or my brother and sister as they were in the middle of A levels and me? well, didn't want to leave my friends at 11 yrs of age. After that he couldn't just leave, he became a Civilian Instructor in MTETF of RAF St Athan for about the same amount of time, retiring in 2004. Amazed that he survived the trainees and bosses, oh and us for all them yrs, he decided enough was enough but not like any normal person-he went through more than any one person would have, after his three heart attacks (MI's) prior and numerous cancer episodes he goes through four major operations and just when we thought the hundreth miricle had occured and he was coming home, he was his normal self and shocked everyone. I know from what I have seen and heard about my father that he was well liked and admired, not many people that met him would forget him. He is and will be missed so much. He was a fantastic lecturer even if he scrounged cigarettes off all his trainees, but he was also a wonderful and loving husband, father and gransha (grandfather). |
