Squadron Leader Alec Panton Cranswick a Member of The Pathfinders in WW2. Was killed following a raid on the railway marshalling yards at Villeneuve St. George, S.east of Paris when his aircraft was hit by flak and blew up killing all but one of the crew. He was at that time a member of 35 Squadron then based at Graveley. He lies buried in the CWGC section of the municipal Cemetery at Clichy S. west of Paris. one of very many bomber command who fell and are not recognised for the great sacrice they all made. |
