Ralph and i met when we were both stationed at raf high wycombe, headquarters bomber command.
we were both p.t.i's and played a lot of basketball together both for the station andd for bomber command. we became very good friends and i would often visit ralph and his wife jean in their married quarters. on occasions, i would baby-sit for them.
we lost touch when i left the raf at the end of 1958.
i had tried other methods of tracing ralph, including "service pals" but without any success. then i joined forces re-united who to my delighttraced ralph and put me in touch again after 45 years. we will of course now keep in touch and as peterborough, which is where i now live and where i was born and bred is not too far from where ralph lives, we will probably meet up again. in fact, i have asked ralph to attend the p.t.i's annual re-union dinner at raf cosford on the 26th april and he is at present trying to arrange to do so, and i am very much hoping that that is where we will meet up again after 45 years. i would like to take this opportunity to thank you for getting us in touch again. it is a terrific site. many many thanks
