| William (bill) Hiscock's details |
'Add me to your Saved Friends' - What is this? Name: | William (bill) Hiscock |
 | | Nick Name: | GUTSY | | Base/Establishment 1: | HMS Hawkins - (1943-1946) | | Year Joined: | 1942 | | Year Left: | 1946 | | Where are you now?: | Hi, I’ve joined this site on behalf of my Father, Bill ’GUTSY’ Hiscock, who joined the Royal Marines in 1942. After training at Eastney Barracks he found himself posted to Durban, S.A. in 1943. From there he was transferred to HMS Hawkins and joined the ship in Simonstown later in 1943. His service on the ’Hawkins’ included Normandy in 1944 and he was de-mobbed in 1946. He is still very much with us and is a not so hale and hearty 86 now. He is very proud of his service and I have joined in the remote possibility that there may be someone who served with him on board. |
