Where are you now?:Since leaving the RN I have worked as an electrician both in Wales and my native Scotland where I am presently living.I still sail but this time its holidaying on cruise ships with my wife. Both my son and his wife and my daughter and her husband gave us a grandson each last year.If any one remembers me I would love to hear from you.I enjoyed my time in the RN only really left to watch my children grow up,not read about it in a letter.Since writing this I now have a third grandson by my son and his wife.

I joined the navy in 1972 with derrick and after a number of years i lost touch with him. he was my best mate so what a surprise it was to first receive a salute and then following an email a telephone call. we can now arrange to see each other and our families after all these years. i thought that he had left the country. our first posting after passing out of training was the first royal navy display team. i then joined the achilles and after a couple of years derrick joined the boat, our draft together finishe dafter the achilles went into dry dock after a collision with a oil tanker (sister ship of the torrie canyan, 5th biggest at the time) back in 1976. this happenned in the english channel en route to hamburg. i am now working in harrogate and derrick is with his family in the nottingham area. thanks again for your web site in allowing me to get back in touch with my mate.Paul Walker
