Where are you now?:After just over 3 years in the wilderness, doing anything from driving lorries, digging ditches and wiring up roadside telephone cabinets, I got the chance to go back to 'RIC', only this time it wasn't 'Recconnaisance Intelligence Centre' it was 'Renal Intensive Care'. I now work, as a Service Engineer, for a company that supplies Dialysis machines to Intensive Care Units and Dialysis Units in Hospitals. Been doing it for just over 13 years now, as of 2010. Money is not great and sometimes it can be a bit heart breaking, especially on childrens wards but can be hugely satisfying. Patients on Dialysis can be great fun and so positive considering their situation, on the other hand, Intensive Care patients tend to be unconscious so its the relatives who can cause the stress. The sick sense of humour I developed in the RAF has helped, though not everyone appreciates it. As the commedian Jethro says "Live every day like it's your last, cos one day you'll be right!"
