John and i joined the raf in sept 69 and trained in raf swinderbyand catterick to be gunners in the raf regiment and were posted to raf bicester no1 sqd raf reg. from there to raf laarbruch in w.germany [as it was then].we served there for two and half years and went on various detachments together before i returned to no 37 sqd in raf catterick in 73 to be discharged. we were great friends in the service and, i was often invited to john’s home in birmingham and, always treated as an special guest by his mom and dad. we met for a short time in 74 but, lost contact after that. i’m delighted to say that after just five days as a member of this great website john and i have made contact again and i look forward many a good time together [telling lies about the old days in the raf i’m sure]. many thanks to you all at this great website. keep up the good work. charles o’malley Charles O’malley
