Cpo am1 william humphries was my basic training instructor as a jnam 2, my watch chief two years later and my flight chief on the first hms antrim ships flight. bill came to my wedding and sold me my first car very cheaply and over a period of time with no interest added.
all the lads in training, on the squadron and the flight loved bill who was firm but fair. he left the rn in 1972 and i heard that he was "dead" in 1976.
yesterday i found him on "forces reunited" and today he has contacted me, yes alive and just recovering from the big "c".
this is what i hoped for from this site. thank you. Ron Allen
