On Demob I joined the Post Office, starting as a postman served on the mail trains, transferred to the post office counter, went on to writing duties, promoted working in the accounts branch Birmingham, Recruitment and eventually took early retirement in 1989. I moved to France in 1993. 5 years ago I revisited Allenbrook Barracks at Paderborne during a run up to the North Cape. I was only alowed into the guard room. I spent qite a lot of time in there in '54 & '55. |

 I have not seen or spoken to my friend phil and his wife for 33 years.he got a computer for christmas,entered forces reunited and i have now had three emails and spoke to him and his wife on the phone this evening.we served together in tidworth ,and herford in germany.we lost contact when i came out.thank you for your help Patrick Murphy
