Where are you now?:After demob in 1977 I moved back to my parents home in Hampshire. I had a variety of jobs then in 1986 when on a charity/aid coach holiday in Poland I fell for a fellow traveller Mary Dunne and in 1987 the typical batchelor got married settling in the West Midlands. The next few years I done a variety of driver agency work, wine waitering and became a mature student topping up my RAF Education Test part 1 with a pile of bits of paper. In 1996 I became a civilian worker with the West Midlands Police. My main hobby is walking it being the cheapest and book collecting on a variety of subjects, plus the usual home and garden and pets thing. I am now involved with the RAF Regiment Association (Birmingham) and have a minor role on the committee. Also I have life membership of RAFA,BASC(Shooting and Coservation) and the YHA (walking) The future is retirement (in 11years) hopefully on a final salary pension which my job has at the moment. We have no children so a planned move into Herefordshire (almost full circle) coupled with downsizing is our slowing down plan. Anything else you want to know you only have to ask.

Sometimes you give up hopes of finding old friends! ken and jacky lived in the same block of flats as my wife and i, 42 years ago whilst we served in the raf. i became god father to their first daughter. they were posted to germany and we lost contact.two weeks ago a name the same as his popped up on my friends list, i made tentative contact, and the reunion has been made. we have talked at length on the phone and have arranged to meet. 42 years is along time, it just proves it's worth checking on this site, don't give up! thanks, forces reunited. barrie [taff] daviesBarrie Davies
