I had served with steve in the raf,
jaric uk raf brampton and pru rheindalen raf germany1979-1983.
steve was a great friend then as he is now.i saw his name pop up on the "forces reunited"site and started to hunt him down.
i found his place of work and chuckled at the simular path`s our lives took.we had both left the raf with some concern for a poor labour market and prospects of employment.
however we both found a new home in the fire dept.
steve i found is working as a firefighter in kent, and at the time of my hunt was on vaction in peru for 3 months.
i had moved to the usa back in 1985.i had settled in san francisco california and joined the san francisco fire dept. as a fire fighter/paramedic.
when i found out that steve was to be out, on walk about.i was
not to be detered i started to fire off e mails to him in peru.
requesting he skip his next hot steamy jungle/rainforest and visit me in san francisco.
anyway long story, not so short. after 21 years i get to meet an old and treasured friend. after he shows up on my door step.
a good day, years melted away.hairlines lengthened and waistlines tightend.
we again shared a pint at an irish pub [be it in california].great to have seen you once more mate.
your old friend,
andy.
