After only being on this websight for a very short time i received an email from an old shipmate of mine.we both joined up in 1948 at h.m.s.ganges,then on hms wakeful,then on hms gabbard and finally on hms birmingham.his wife sandra saw my official number and said to him this number is very close to yours do you know a del howden?do i he said,we got in touch by email and then by phone.my old shipmate peter james wright(shiner)now lives in france and as we spoke (nearly half an hour the years just rolled back)i am so grateful to forces reunited,its nice to remember the old times,i can assure you two old sailors have been made very happy.
