 I have been a member of a number of ex-service sites over the years and had virtually given up the thought of making contact with anyone. this is especially because my group, the balloon unit of cardington, numbered so few bods. then out of the blue through forces reunited, one of the happier faces from my time in the raf contacted me. we're both 71 now, but for me at least, the last 50 years just disappeared and our shared experiences are fresh again.
