It has been a search for 38 years to try to find my dearest friend. i was widowed 3 months ago, and thought i would give it another try to find him. i was at a very low ebb this morning then i came across this site, joined in the vain hope that i might be lucky, and by this evening i have had an email from him. he joined the raf when he was 16 and i was 14, and when i was 18 i joined up in the hope of being stationed near him. unfortunately i had an accident and was invalided out very quickly, and though we maintained contact for a few years, eventually we lost touch. i have been searching ever since 1966 ,because i could never believe that i would never see alan again, and all it took was less than 12 hours with your fabulous website. i just had to put in the year he joined and roughly how long he was in the raf, and it brought up 3 names. as soon as i saw his service number i was pretty sure i had found the right man. i will be forever in your debt. thank you for being there.
