i did my basic training with taffy at crookham with the rct in 1969 we were very close friends, later taffy was back squaded due to illnes.on completing my training i was posted to 35 squodren in hamelin in germany and a few weeks later taffy was given the same posting,i was chuffed to bits, however soon after this he joined the band and we soon lost contact again, this must have been 1970.
then on the 23/07/2004,some 34 years i received an email from my old and lost mate taffy what a brilliant surprise this was.
this was all due to forces reunited and to say thank you seems so inadequate but thank you from the bottom of my heart.what you have given us is so very special.
my wife lillian and myself made arrangements to go and visit taffy and his lovely partner val on the 19th of september 2004 at there home in fishguard.
we had a wonderful few days, there hospitality was superb and we are planning to do the trip again in 2005
we also keep in touch on a regular basis using msn messenger on the internet.
i must say this reunion would not have been possible with out the help of forces reunited,my only regret is i should have joined sooner.
once again thank you forces reunited
