Blyskawiscz built in our local shipyard here in Cowes I.W. for the free Polish.  Same yard built H.M.S. Dainty,(N.Z.) Daring, Quinton, Quickmatch (aus).
The Blyskawisc is credited with saving our town from further destruction when under attack by Stuka bombers.  Their guns were hot after firing all night.  We have a plaque in their honour.  Not a good photo.

Ship in the Gulf.  No idea which ship but liked the picture. It was taken recently

Argentine training ship, Sydney Harbour.  Friend's baby christened aboard.  Sheila O.McKean.
Christmas card from HMS.Philomel.
Philomel, peal class. Third class cruiser. Scrapped before W.W.1 started but was transferred to N.Z. government in 1914 and served as an escort in the Indian Ocean and off the Syrian coast until 1917 when no longer used on active service.  She survived until 1949 spending most of her time as a base ship.

Just to show you that I am now the proud owner of the Vets badge. Also my husband Chris F.A.A. and brother R.A.S.C. Waterborne.  Photo taken 5 minutes after it arrived.
Not a Navy ship but one from my Dad's collection.  Russian Govt, Ice breaker.  Inscription on back of photo.  Several Cowes men in crew, including my stepfather.  I would guess the date to be early 1920's.
Another of my Dad's S.Y Andrea 1928 (year I was born).  Inscription on back;  Lost a Cowes man overboard on way home.  I later became friends with daughter of the lost man who told me that her Father's father had drowned 5 miles from the same spot.

ihave tried for 45yrs to trace my friend mandy from my army days then a friend suggested forces reunited after 2hrs her name popped up i could not believe my eyes. i just sat staring at her name totaly shocked.i have now sent an email hoping like mad that she sees it.i called my daughter after her so that will please her.we served together at bovington camp in dorset untill i was posted to kingston and lost touch. thanks a million forces reunitedEileen Traynor
