I was very pleasantly surprised to receive a message from fred with whom i served on hms whitby in 1973.
hopefully it will be the beginning of regular contact. he was the killick jack dusty in our mess. that's leading stores accountant to non matelots!
strangely enough i've only recently posted a photo with fred in it.
i can now understand why our older veterans get so nostalgic. i was fortunate insofar that i have no painful memories but i can see that the old sense of camaraderie shines therough the face of adversity and brings us alive. Grahame Race
