 picture this as probably many of you did, january 1963,a 16 yr old dumped at raleigh at 1600,in time for tea, a jam sandwich from a big tin, a cup of stagnant tea. (with bromide,it doesn't work).collect your kit,pack your civvies, make your bunk.

twice round the parade ground hutton rifle above your head. where was my mum when i needed her. then,the hermes,warsash,dalrymple,oracle,cachalot,ocelot.what a life i loved it2004. not many oppos, no more runs ashore,don't drink to much dear you don't want to get drunk again. ( i do )
dartmouth officer training ground letting slip all the boats that were tied up on the way back to our boat.
weymouth fleet training. stealing the admirals name plate and ships bell, then leaving them on the captains bunk for him to find after he had denied that any of his crew would have been involved. those were the days, |
