rgj barred from colchester in 1988 written by joe nicholson
whilst barred from colchester myself rfn jennings and rfn flarts decided to have a night in london on the drink.after last orders we met a tourist who invited us to the waldorf hotel for further drinking,so being squaddies and wanting more drink we agreed.on walking in the waldorf jenninge[jinx]said the drinks are on me .so lots of civvies started having free drinks.by about5 in the morning we decided we,d had enough so asked for the bill.it came at about300 plus quid,to which we said he,s paying [the tourist]stick it on his bill.but unknown to us he had cleared his bill up and said we had to pay it ourselves.so he got dropped, the hotel security locked us in and phoned the police.the police told us we had to pay or get nicked,so off they took us to the cashpoint.after paying we got a black cab all the way back to colchester,[cheap].we gets back for about 7.30 straight washed shaved and ready, jinx decided he wasnt playing and went to bed, needless to say he got nicked.all in all it cost us a fair bit for one night in london we never done it again.afterwards we had a good laugh about it |
