Wildenwrath in 1983 written by John Sellwood
12 Flt Army Air Corps was billeted in a hangar next to 4 wing RAF regt and we had superb sights over the Airfield until they built a new firestation that completley obscured our view.
We had a nice little flight of 3 Gazelles, for V.I.P. work at JHQ, the oc was Major Gordon Stafford AAC and 2 ic was WO1 Terry Newbery RE (sadly Deceased) me as the Flt Clerk and DAve Bashford REME AQMS (he was also the petrol coupon king) There were many Cahracters in the flight such as Sgt Frank walker pilot/QHI, Sgt Bill Manns Pilot and many others to numerous to mention, but is was a lovely flight very tight group that would do anythign for anyone, and chirstmas time was best we had 14 quarters, with 14 days off and a party in every quarter
