I was posted to Lubbecke in 1978 to RHQ 2 Regt AAC and had a great time the town was lovely and the Cpls Mess Brilliant we always had a great time int the town and when they had the beer fest i can remember going to it but not coming home to barracks (as you do) I met there the women i loved but being young and wanting to enjoy life i did not ask her to marry me, her Name was Helen Bailhache and she was the Provost Cpl then i got posted to 662 Sqn AAC in Munster in 1979 for a northern Ireland tour and then met once and we lost touch. if any one knows her whereabouts ask her to call me or I her would love to see her now.
We in the AAC got on really well with the local police and had agreat time with them including Black Powder shooting on there range, i also played Rugby for Lubbecke Layabouts the garrison team does anyone remember that. Also the club outside of town that was closed down every 6 months becasue the town council changed the boundarys but then open a few days later wher we and all the girls went to for a laugh on a friday night
