Joined the RAF at Padgate in August 1950 in No. 9 Flight "C" Squadron with Sgt. Jones I/C Cpls Worrall, and Sharples and I can hear their voices now !! "Outside 9 Flight" was the eternal cry. After Basic training joined the R.A.F.Regiment at the then Depot at Catterick,(the home of our great W/O Danny Gourd !!) after Regiment Basic Training and Pass-Out on to R.A.F.Kirkham to train as a Gunner /Armourer.
On completion returned to the Depot where I completed my time to demob,
I would not have missed the experience, I did not really want to come out when the long awaited demob day arrived !!! Is there anyone about who remembers me??????? if so, I would love to hear from you.
