RAF Spitlegate in 1967 written by Jacqueline Jones
Looking forward to getting off the train at Grantham and wondering what was to be in store, soon found out no more lay ins! The early morning square bashing, bull nights, kit inspections, white gloves being put along all areas of cupboards and beds looking for any speck of dust. The bed packs measured for accuracy.Standing to attention at the side of the bed ready for the uniform inspection.

The delightful last week when we could all stay in bed until 7.00am magic, but not so the breakfast, although once in from square bashing it went down a treat
The friends I met in C Section were a good bunch and would love to hear from anyone who was stationed there at that time. The passing out day was brilliant with a lot of memories, plus the excitment of what new ventures the new postings would bring. |

There is nothing worse than breaking down. But if you do, the RAC have more than 1,500 patrols ready to rescue you, whether you are at the shops or on the motorway. They will always try to fix your vehicle at the roadside, but if they cant they will make getting it repaired as painless as possible.
