Lubbecke BFPO 22 in 1964 written by Eddy Scott
Hi,
I have just been reading some of your comments regarding the old camp, i am so suprised to here that it has been closed down, i have some great memories in the 5 years i was stationed there, i was young and a reble and all new it but they seem to go along with me knowing more than i did as they had faith in me unlike it did and new i would come good unlike i did, i finished off a sergeant and it changed my life been there and i am so grateful to others that had patents with me, mind you this was in 1964 when i first went there, my first posting over in Germany was at the barracks in Bunda, i was there just over a year then went to Lubbecke which was at the time HQ BAOR, and was BFPO 22, we shared the camp with the REME and a couple of others one been the MPs, our badge at that time was crossed keys, when i first went in the army in 1963 it was the RASC then we changed over to the RCT while i was stationed in Bunda, i loved Lubbecke there was plenty of pubs to drink in and at that time as long as we drank they kept it open, infact one of the MSO they were refuges who worked at the camp bought a pub and it was our local, in nice weather we use to go to the open air swimming pool, this is were i met a wonder full young woman called Jutta Gausmann, she had a twin sister who looked nothing like her, we were going to be married but that was not to be, as i have said i was very immature and wayward, i am happily married now but would still like to no how life has treated Jutta that's if any one can help me on this, i no she took confirmation at St Andreas Church in Lubbecke, i think the last time i saw her was shortly after i had my 21st birthday party which was held in the NAAFI (i no that's the wrong abbreviation for it) well its been a long time, all i can say to any ex forces that did not like it there must still not like life, saying that i dont know what changes were made as i left and came back to England to be with the Tank Transporter at Ramby camp, so as i have put if anyone knows how i can contact Jutta or even any one that was stationed there in 1964 onwards unto 1968 i would be glad to here from them, my name is Eddy Scott, take care all |

There is nothing worse than breaking down. But if you do, the RAC have more than 1,500 patrols ready to rescue you, whether you are at the shops or on the motorway. They will always try to fix your vehicle at the roadside, but if they cant they will make getting it repaired as painless as possible.
