reserve fleet Harwich in 1949 written by stan packman
I was on HMS Tyne in the Stour Estuary. Together with Bernie Carroll Bernard Prior Stan NewburyWe were engaged in the packaging of destreoyers aand sealing with compounds The local run ashore on Sundays was to the Shotley arms On saturdays during short weekends we all went to Ipswitch and usually slept at the Salvation Army Hostel On long week ends we usually spent in London
I would love to hear from any one who was withe the reserve fleet at that time the other depot ship was HMS Woolwich. |
