Golf course camp,Port Said. A memory I shall never forget. I was on stand by platoon,The platoon seargeant was a Sgt D a real bast---. Sgt D was well known to turning out the platoon at any time especially in the middle of the night.

This particular night he turned us out at 4 am, The platoon turned out in record time Sgt D the bast---- inspected us----one man missing, Where is Guardsman P?screamed Sgt D the bast-- ,

He is coming, said someone. Sgt D the bast---blue his top, Guardsman P he yelled at the platoon tent, get out here right now, GuardsmanP came out of the tent on the double and formed up in line.

THe whole platoon went into hysterics Sgt D the bast--- had a fit. Guardsman P was standing to attention looking straight ahead,He had his boots on , his webb belt, ammo pouches, steel helmet, holding his rifle, otherwise stark naked.

Sgt D the bast---almost had a heart attack cpl B ,he yelled Put this man in the guardroom, on the double. CPL B doubled off with Guardsman P to the guardroom.

Company Orders the next day,Cpl B gave the evidence, coud"t help smiling. Major Ph looked at Guardsman P and said,P----- one day you will credit the institution you will end up in. Dissmissed. Those were the days.
