Cold Warriors - Germany in 1973 written by archie kennedy
Vividly remember that the Royal Signals motto was "Who cares who wins" followed by the statement that, as tradesmen rather than soldiers we'd be protected by guys who knew how to shoot a gun. Had lots of fun, worked with John Chivers, Bill "the Beast" Bisson, the Dolphin, Wingnut and many other characters. Dave Gaze and I saw a very old guy at Warburg who looked like Hitler - never told a soul.
If anyone cares to contact me with memories (funny ones)for a book on the cold war please do so (Northern Ireland wasn't so much fun).
