Falaise Camp ADEN in 1960 written by GEOFFREY MARTIN
The TWYNAM's were not in place when the IND ARMD SQDN arrived,on the NEVASA, so we were under canvas, in 20 man marquees, with 5 high up fans as air conditioning.
The Centurions could not get out past the salt-flats untill the RE's had built a "causway" (collect £200.00 as you pass go").
Half day working and 5 showers a day.
Convoys up to Dhala to replenish 45 Commando, then home after 10 months on the DUNERA. NEVER GOT SHOT AT. |
