Apprenticeship at Halton in 1966 written by Christopher Curtis
The route linings! I remember charging along the A40 Western Avenue in London in the coach and hitting a car fairly and squarely in the side when the driver had decided he was NOT going to wait at the traffic lights with the copper on point duty who was holding him. I remember too the summer downpour whcih washed away all our capes into a huge pile over a drain cover!
I remember too feeling totally inadequate, during the apprenticeship, unable at many times to cope with the change in lifestyle until I got awarded the Airframe trade progress prize. Then all of a sudden, it clicked into gear!
