Singapore in 1968 written by Philip PARNELL
While serving as armourer to The Life Guards in Singapore, a Cpl. of Horse (L.G.) and I obtained permission to motorcycle to the U.K. My bike was a BSA M20 that had been a D.Rs. bike. The 8,000 journey took us eight weeks. We shipped to Madras. Then motorcycled through India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Yugoslavia, Austria, Germany and finally Belgium before crossing to Dover. There is seldom a week goes by that some place doesn't come up on the news, I can say "I have been there." |
