bay of bengal /burma campaign in 1945 written by ernest wilson
I was being transported on a ferryboat which I boarded at night and therefore did not see its name.it was already full of other troops and I therefore had to sleep on deck.at approx 2 am it was rammed by a larger ship and sank in minutes.only those on deck were able to survive-18 in allwespent the rest of the night in the water till some small boats came at first light and picked us up .we were taken to the large ship which had rammed us and taken to Calcutta to continue our journeys but kept segregated so that I was not able to see this vessels name either.military police were waiting on the docks at Calcutta and I was taken to my own hq and did not see any of the other survivors again. despite in depth research in many areas I have not been able to ascertain any details Any information would be welcome or any advice on how to get a result
The time this happened was April 1945 |

There is nothing worse than breaking down. But if you do, the RAC have more than 1,500 patrols ready to rescue you, whether you are at the shops or on the motorway. They will always try to fix your vehicle at the roadside, but if they cant they will make getting it repaired as painless as possible.
