 As a dead green AC1 M.T.mechanic(been on the island about 3 weeks),I was sent to the Marine Craft Unit in Limasol as a 3 tonner had broken down. Got there, had a shufti at the wagon, done a
makeshift repair to get it back to camp. On returning to t M.T. I reported to the chiefy i/c repair section who told me to hand my weapon to the armoury. "WEAPON! what weapon?" At that time EOKA troubles were still on. I should booked out a stengun.
Told you I was green.
