CYPRUS Eoka Conflict in 1955 written by David Carter
Less a memory, more an appeal for yours, if you served in Cyprus during the Eoka terrorist conflict:
I am an author, writing a book about those days, using the stories of British military personnel who served on the Island. If you think you can help, please contact me.
More details of my book project can be found in the Cyprus section of
www.britains-smallwars.
I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who knew/knows
Sgt CUTLIFFE, 29 Field Regiment Royal Artillery,
whose wife was murdered in Famagusta on 3 October 1958 (on leaving the army he opened a pub in South Wales)
and anyone who served with
Sgt Douglas Thomas LEWIS, Royal Warwickshire Regiment (Fusiliers) in Nicosia, 1956. He was one of the few NCOs allowed to wear a full beard!
I look forwardto hearing from you.
Best wishes

There is nothing worse than breaking down. But if you do, the RAC have more than 1,500 patrols ready to rescue you, whether you are at the shops or on the motorway. They will always try to fix your vehicle at the roadside, but if they cant they will make getting it repaired as painless as possible.
