HMS/M Resolution in 2002 written by allan davies
We were on independant exercise before going on patrol when a major flood alarm went off.Water had flooded into the bilges through a faulty valve on the water round torpedo tank. The planesman couldn't control the boat and it went bow down towards the sea bed. Fortunately control was regained and we surfaced safely and returned to Faslane, where a torpedo, which had fallen from its stowage and was extensively damaged, during the steep descent, was removed. The faulty valve was also repaired and we went on to complete a successful 8 week patrol with no further incidents (thankfully) |

There is nothing worse than breaking down. But if you do, the RAC have more than 1,500 patrols ready to rescue you, whether you are at the shops or on the motorway. They will always try to fix your vehicle at the roadside, but if they cant they will make getting it repaired as painless as possible.
