Outside Venice on VE Day 8th May 1945 in 1945
written by Ron Goldstein

I was a Loader/Operator in the 4th Queen's Own Hussars on the SSMs Stuart tank. Someone called out to me 'get the BBC right away'. I hung extra sets of earphones over the side of the tank and we all heard the crowds going wild in Trafalgar Square. We felt like there was a big party going on to which we had not been invited and we were not overpleased !

There is nothing worse than breaking down. But if you do, the RAC have more than 1,500 patrols ready to rescue you, whether you are at the shops or on the motorway. They will always try to fix your vehicle at the roadside, but if they cant they will make getting it repaired as painless as possible.
