Inkerman Barracks R.M.P. in 1949 written by Roy Roebuck
Training for 12 weeks under the watchful eye of Sgt.Vic.Caudwell who I must admit was one of the better fellows I met .
Also having to learn to ride a motor-cycle in Nov/Dec.with only fatigues for uniform as the Army decided to stop issuing proper kit when our squad started.
And anyone who remembers Harry Burden as RSM will know what a stickler he was -I was called a few names on parade like many others but as L/Cpl Jones in "Dads Army used to say - it was a good life" |
