Changi Theatre Club in 1966

 I was tricked into producing a one act play called "Home is the Hunted" by the members asking me to co-produce/direct this play with another person.I had never seen a play let alone produce one and only agreed because they said I could learn from the experiece with a co- producer (Pete?) Three weeks into rehearsals my co-producer left Singapore to go to Australia and left me to carry on regardless. It had all been planned in advance and was a very clever and devious plot to get me interested in dramatics. I had only become a member because a friend of mine in my Go-kart club, Stan? talked me into it by saying they had their own ration of duty free booze. The play was a success and I remained in Am Dram for 25 years thanks to those devious people of 45 years ago, My thanks to all the members of the Changi Theatre Club for being so friendly and who taught me a lot about the theatre and much more. |
