HMS Bulwark, Med Tour in 1968

 Thanks to Forces reunited me and my Best man, [ I was Best man for Chris as well] and Old friend Chris Mahoney met up October 2011 for the first time in 41 years. What a fantastic lamp swinging weekend this was. Our wives had a fantastic time as well. What was really a highlight for me,Chris had found an old movie of us on the rusty B, starting with the Russian fleet steaming past us at full speed. But for both of us was the shots taken on the flight deck of two young matlows on flight deck duties in Gib. Talk about gob smacked, never did I ever think I would see us both from way back in 1968, what a treat. We always were True shipmates, but the Bond is even stronger now. Keep on looking for old oppos, we did and boy has it paid of. Sandy bottoms shipmates. |
