, , Royal Signals, Tyersall Park Singapore in 1956 written by John Colahan
GHQ Sigs Tyersall Park Singapore 1955-56. We had an RSM that decided to check the Guard one night by sneaking past the sentry. The sentry challenged him in the proper manner. No response. The sentry fired a shot at him. Thankfully he missed. Another time he ordered the Guard to put all stray dogs roaming the camp under close arrest. Needless to say the lads were too wise to go near a stray(rabid?) dog or the dogs got wind of what was going on and done a runner. No arrests were made. |
