RAF Biggin Hill, Aptitude Testing Section in 1968 written by Eddie Billington
Working from Sundays to Thursdays on aptitude testing was a strange week, but at least Sundays were quiet with few people about. The section was surrounded by lovely rose bushes that were laden with flowers. Seeing as I live in married quarters in Vincent Square, after testing had finished for the day, I usually went home via a walk around the section collecting a rose from most of the bushes. Ended up filling the house with roses most weeks, much to the delight of the memsahib! As a Baggies supporter, it was also the year that the football management let me have a ticket for the FA cup final at Wembley. Honoured indeed |
