Christmas Island H Bomb tests in 1957 written by GEOFFREY JENKINSON
1957-58 On HMS WARRIOR as a stoker Mech we were all on the flight deck in our anti flash gear dark glasses for one of the blasts. I remember opening my eyes and seeing the bones in my hands.
We were told to stand and face the blast, the column of the blast was really awsome, and I will never forgetthat sight ever.
Medical wise in 1987,I had a operation on my left hand, and in 1991 two operations on my right hand. The surgeon could not say if these were the result of the bomb, then again they would not would they.
