RAF DINGLI in 1963 written by Christopher Robinson
Can well remember working at that transmitter station high up on the cliffs overlooking the little target island of Filfla. Ships of many nations used to fire their guns at Filfla as target practice. When I and my colleagues in RAF Malta were not too busy we would observe these efforts.
The American ships were the only nation to actually miss the island, as you could see the splashes falling into the sea round about. Occasionally they hit it!!
Remember well seeing a local with shotgun strapped across his back, stop close by, load up and blasted off twice at a poor unfortunate single swallow. Fortunately he missed his target too!!

There is nothing worse than breaking down. But if you do, the RAC have more than 1,500 patrols ready to rescue you, whether you are at the shops or on the motorway. They will always try to fix your vehicle at the roadside, but if they cant they will make getting it repaired as painless as possible.
